Bob Mamet is a 7-time chart-topping internationally acclaimed pianist and composer known for his melodic and vibrant style. The Chicago Tribune calls Chicago native Bob Mamet, "a serious artist addressing important compositions [with] a silvery touch," while The Chicago Sun-Times simply calls him "The Natural.”
Bob Mamet studied under Oscar winning composer Julio Esteban at the Peabody Conservatory while attending John Hopkins University, before moving out West to Los Angeles where he studied under Dick Grove himself at the Dick Grove School of Music. While living in Los Angeles, Bob Mamet completed over one hundred projects in television, film and advertising, including for the hit show “The Wonder Years,” before moving back to his hometown of Chicago where he currently resides.
Bob Mamet’s debut album Signs of Life earned him a spot on the Grammy entry list, as well as a major record label deal with Atlantic Records where he was signed for twelve years and mentored by Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun. Since then, Bob Mamet has also recorded with Sony and Warner Brothers. During his time with Atlantic, Bob Mamet continuously resided in the top ten on the national Jazz charts, hitting number one seven times. Bob Mamet has garnered over 750,000 record sales and been played on the radio over one million times worldwide. His discography includes: Signs of Life, Day into Night, Adventures in Jazz, Impromptu, London House Blues and Seabird. His most iconic composition is Greenstreet, which topped the charts for seven weeks and has proven evergreen; decades later, Greenstreet maintains its popularity on the radio worldwide.
Bob Mamet performs around the world for audiences of all sizes, collaborating with many acclaimed artists, including seven time Grammy award winning drummer Paul Wertico. Bob Mamet’s album London House Blues debuted in Paris to standing ovations and rave reviews. Jazz Hot Magazine praised Bob Mamet's performances in Paris for possessing the perfect “dichotomy of sweetness and fire!” Bob Mamet is currently working on a solo album of original compositions entitled Seabird.
