Signs of Life

Signs of Life

Bob came out of the gate swinging with his debut album Signs of LifeSigns of Life became an instant classic, earning Bob a spot on the Grammy entry list, a major-label record deal with Atlantic Records, and placement on multiple Contemporary Jazz “Top Ten” lists.

The album features an all-star lineup of Jazz-Rock luminaries including Steely Dan guitarists Larry Carlton & Dean Parks, Weather Report percussionist Alex Acuña, the Yellowjackets rhythm section Jimmy Haslip & William Kennedy, and Tower of Power saxman Richard Elliot amongst others.

Day Into Night

Day Into Night

Bob's Atlantic Records release Day into Night became his best-selling album, spending over a year on the Contemporary Jazz charts. To this day, the album's stylistically diverse tracks remain radio favorites around the world.

Day Into Night's opening track Greenstreet topped the national Contemporary Jazz charts for seven consecutive weeks. Greenstreet maintains its title as one of the top Contemporary Jazz singles of all time.

The featured players on the album range in scope from Contemporary Jazz superstars Gerald Albright and Brian Culbertson to Miles Davis’ bassist Richard Patterson, Jazz trumpeter extraordinaire Orbert Davis, and Styx drummer Todd Sucherman.

Adventures in Jazz

Adventures in Jazz

Adventures in Jazz marked a highly anticipated collaboration between Bob Mamet and multi-genre keyboardist/composer David Benoit.

The Benoit-produced chart-topper yielded enduring hits such as News from the Blues and At Midnight, and acoustic fare such as Six Stories and the title track featuring the great Eric Marienthal on sax. The closing track Nightsong is a solo piano meditation that remains a fan-favorite in Bob’s repertoire.

Impromptu

Impromptu

After two decades as a Contemporary Jazz artist, Bob released the Acoustic Jazz album Impromptu, featuring the newly formed Bob Mamet Trio with bassist Darek Oles and drummer Joe LaBarbera. A tour de force collection of ten original compositions with a vibrant, melodic sound, the album spent 15 weeks on the National Jazz charts.

Three-Time Top European Bassist Oles brings to the recording his round, expressive style. Originally renowned for his stellar work with the immortal Bill Evans and his Trio, LaBarbera helped Mamet achieve the rare distinction of topping both the Traditional and Contemporary Jazz charts.

London House Blues

London House Blues

Bob's fifth album (and second acoustic Trio outing) London House Blues is an homage to the famed London House Jazz Supper Club where Bob's parents Judy and Bernie Mamet had their first date, and where piano legends like Dave Brubeck, Oscar Peterson, and Bill Evans regularly performed.

The London House Blues album is a mix of Jazz standards and original compositions; it has garnered extensive radio airplay across major U.S. markets including Chicago, Miami, New Orleans and San Francisco, and became a bestseller in Europe and Japan. Bob debuted the album in Paris to standing ovations and rave reviews. 7-Time Grammy winning drummer Paul Wertico and world renowned bassist Larry Gray make up the stellar rhythm section.
